The DL (downlow) on DL's (deadlifts)

First deadlifting isn’t dangerous. It’s actually one of the best exercises bulletproof your back when done correctly. It’s going from nothing into deadlifting that is dangerous. We have to warm-up our nervous system like you see me doing here.

This is called nerve flossing or neural gliding. This helps mobilize the nerves around the sensitive and normally more dormant pathways. When you take this step it allows us to lift pain free and activate the intended muscles.

Start by placing a PVC pipe, swiffer or any damb pole you can find lying around at the base of your tailbone to the base of your skull. Push your hips back Miley-Cryrus style and hold for a second allowing your weight to shift into your hamstrings (back of your legs). ACTUALLY THINK about your butt squeezing to liftt your upper torso to stack tall. Repeat until you make a connection with those muscles THEN you’re good to go!

I hope this helps debunk any fears around deadlifting. For more questions or comments please comment below. Share with any friends who need this message. HAPPY SAFE LIFTING YA’LL!
